Kosair Charities is excited to announce the hiring of Beth Mattingly Denham as Sr. Vice President of Development. Denham has more than 30 years of experience leading philanthropic organizations in our community and is a wife, mother, and grandmother who grew up in the shadow of Kosair Charities on Eastern Parkway.
“I’m beyond excited to join the incredible Kosair Charities team,” Denham said. “I rode my bicycle through the Kosair Charities’ campus as a little girl. As a young woman, it was the site of my first job after college when I worked as a grant writer and marketing assistant with the Commission for Handicapped Children. Now, I am returning to help shape the second century of this iconic organization and, more importantly, help to bring joy and hope to children in need.”
Beth most recently served as the Executive Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (Kentucky/West Virginia Chapter). She holds a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace from the University of South Florida, and she received her Certified Fundraising Manager certification from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Today’s Woman magazine named Beth the Most Admired Woman in 2022 in its Health and Wellness category.
“Beth brings tremendous passion to help us create our vision of a world where children in need live life to the fullest,” said Kosair Charities President Barry Dunn. “I am excited that Beth will be working with our generous donors to create a second century of delivering joy, care, and hope to children.”
Beth shares her passion and knowledge of non-profits as a part-time lecturer at her alma mater, the University of Louisville, where she teaches an event planning course. Although you probably did not recognize her at the time, she took a starring role in the school’s history. Beth was the Cardinal Bird mascot from 1984 to 1987 and was there when the Cards won the 1986 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship.
Beth and her husband, Tim, recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. They are blessed with four children and three grandsons who adore their “Nonna.”
