Children across Kentucky and southern Indiana have a new ally. Justin Ruhl joined Kosair for Kids as chief financial and administrative officer (CFAO) on December 27. Ruhl comes to Kosair for Kids from the University of Louisville Foundation where he worked for eight years, including the last four years as controller.
“I am humbled and deeply honored to join Kosair for Kids,” Ruhl said. ”This opportunity allows me to contribute to a cause I care deeply about, and I am grateful for the trust placed in me to help all children live life to the fullest.”
“Justin’s extensive experience and insight will be vitally important as he moves our mission forward by ensuring financial sustainability and maximizing resources so we can help even more children in need,” said Barry Dunn, President and CEO of Kosair for Kids.
In 2024, Kosair for Kids benefited more than 200,000 children through its programs. The region’s most comprehensive children’s charity helped more than 150 Kosair Kids with healthcare bills, medical equipment, and therapies that their families could not otherwise afford. Over 200,000 children were reached through the Kosair for Kids grant program, which funds children’s healthcare, groundbreaking medical research, education, social services, and child advocacy efforts. Thousands more attended Kosair Kid Experiences.
“Kosair for Kids has a profound impact on children’s lives, and I am eager to bring my skills to support and enhance its mission,” Ruhl added.
Justin and his wife Jaime have been married for nearly 18 years and are the proud parents of two sons, ages 11 and 10. He received his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Bellarmine University, received his CPA license in 2009, and is a member of the Kentucky State Board of Accountancy, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants.
