Hundreds expected at Kosair for Kids Hats On for Healing Auction.

44 days before the Kentucky Derby, hundreds of people will gather at The Olmsted to not only look fabulous but also to make a difference as they prepare their Derby outfits. Tickets sold out this week to the Kosair for Kids Hats On for Healing auction, which benefits the beloved charities’ Child Abuse Prevention Fund.

Kosair for Kids provides funding to nonprofits that specialize in child abuse prevention and intervention, advocate for policy change in the child welfare system, and expand awareness and education for childcare providers. In 2022, Kosair for Kids Advocacy Grants helped to advocate for and protect 101,975 children. Proceeds from the auction will support efforts to end child abuse and neglect.

Thursday’s event is open to media and will provide an opportunity a look at the visually stunning hats, take in the festive atmosphere, and get a feel for the joy that comes from making a difference while preparing for Derby Season.

When: 5:30-8 p.m., Thursday, March 23.

Where: The Olmsted, 3701 Frankfort Avenue, Louisville.

Who: Hundreds of local women and men preparing for Derby Season and supporting the Kosair for Kids Child Abuse Prevention Fund.

What you will see: A festive venue filled with hundreds of hats up for auction and donors trying on hats and fascinators as they visit with friends and celebrate making a difference in the lives of children.
