Kosair for Kids hosts Tea Party at Kentucky Castle

30 Kosair Kids had an experience of a lifetime at The Kentucky Castle in Versailles, where they were treated like royalty by Kosair for Kids. The first-ever Kosair Kids Princess Tea treated girls of differing abilities to pampering and a tea party with their favorite princesses. Their Fairy Godmother Elise (a generous Kosair for Kids donor) provided princess dresses for each of the girls.

All of the princesses treated on Sunday have received some form of assistance from the region’s most comprehensive children’s charity, Kosair for Kids. Some in attendance today have battled cancer, others receive assistance with differing forms of therapy or medical equipment that allows them to live life to the fullest.

At this event, the Kosair Kids received tiaras, costume jewelry, a doll of their favorite character, and other presents when they arrived for the morning. The University of Kentucky Dance Team then provided pampering, doing the hair, makeup, and nails of the princesses.

A pink carpet led the way into the ballroom, where the tea awaited. But first, a surprise visit from Disney princesses who taught their fans to twirl and then lead story time.

“Today it was a princess party, and this is for Kosair Kids, and I’m one of them,” said Kosair Kid Nora. “There are some princesses that came today, and we had a tea party and lunch, and we’re about to do some more stuff, and we’ll take some pictures, and it was great.”

“I did makeup, I did nails, and I danced, and I had fun,” said Kosair Kid Riley.

“It’s been a lot of fun,” exclaimed Katie Grant, mother to Kosair Kid Sloane. “We’ve never been around princesses or gotten to dress up and had her hair done, and makeup done, all that kind of stuff. So it’s a fun experience to experience with her and be able to do something that kids can do.”
