On Thursday, April 18, newly hired University of Louisville men’s basketball coach Pat Kelsey will make his first charity appearance in our community. His address will take place at the annual Kosair for Kids Child Abuse Prevention Luncheon, an event that has played a vital role in raising money for the beloved charity’s Child Abuse Prevention Fund.
Coach Kelsey will deliver the keynote speech to a sold-out crowd of 400 supporters. Due to a busy recruiting schedule, he will not be available for media interviews, but media outlets are welcome to cover his speech.
The audience will also hear a testimonial from the mother of a child whose life was altered by abuse. Those impacted by abuse, advocates, and Kosair for Kids President & CEO Barry Dunn will be available for interviews after the event.
Recently released statistics showed both Kentucky and Indiana making strides in lessening the instances of child abuse and neglect. Still, there is much work to be done and the Kosair for Kids Child Abuse Prevention Luncheon serves as an opportunity to rally supporters and remind the community of the important role we all play in protecting children.
