POSITION SUMMARY
Direct and guide the overall communications and marketing strategy and functions of Kosair Charities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 • Manage Kosair Charities’ brand and reputation 
 • Create and drive media relations strategy 
 • Create, facilitate, and coordinate rich digital, written, and video content 
 • Create social media content and drive engagement 
 • Write press releases, advisories, and alerts 
 • Plan and oversee press conferences and media appearances 
 • Create public and media relations opportunities by developing stories from families, agencies, and donors highlighting impact of Kosair Charities 
 • Oversee Kosair Charities’ publications 
 • Implement strategic media buys and ad placement through multiple mediums 
 • Prepare Kosair Charities employees and board members for speaking engagements and appearances 
 • Serve as a subject-matter expert in risk and crisis management, including establishing crisis communications policies and procedures and offering real-time management, counsel, and support as required 
 • Create social media content and drive engagement 
 • Act as a brand ambassador for Kosair Charities, regularly attending activities that raise the organization’s visibility and increase new business prospects resulting in increased revenue  
 • Work collaboratively with the Development team on creation of fundraising appeals 
 • Develop and manage internal and client budgets 
 • Develop and maintain relationships with media and communications-related vendors and serve as their primary contact 
 • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
 • Strong experience and leadership in managing comprehensive strategic communication, media relations and marketing programs to advance an organization’s mission and goals. 
 • Experience in media and crisis communications 
 • Expert ability to craft meaningful communications aligned with business strategy and executive voice 
 • Proven experience in excellent writing skills including articles, press releases and speech writing 
 • In-depth understanding of social media, content creation, and connecting with core constituencies 
 • Self-motivated and resourceful, with the proven ability to multi-task and operate successfully under deadlines with little supervision 
 • Available for night and weekend work hours to complete a task or professional commitment 
 • Strong organizational skills and attention to details 
 • Proficient in complete suite of Microsoft Office software products  
 • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Proven results in facilitating efficient, productive, and highly motivated teams 
 • Possess superior problem-solving and critical thinking while performing in a fast-paced environment 
 • Create social media content and drive engagement 
 • Bachelor’s Degree
