Bears on Patrol
Bears on Patrol is a cooperative effort between
Kosair Charities and local law enforcement agencies to provide
patrol cars with teddy bears and other stuffed animals. These
stuffed animals and bears are used by officers throughout
Kentucky and Southern Indiana to comfort young children exposed
to traumatic situations. These "loving friends" comfort children
when their world is compromised and help put smiles back on
their face. Thanks to the generosity of caring individuals, more than 100,000 bears have been distributed..
Bears on Patrol is another way Kosair Charities
serves the children of Kentucky and Southern Indiana. For
over 80 years, Kosair Charities has helped children receive
the vital medical care they needed when their family could
not afford it.
Anyone can make a gift to honor a child and
in doing so, help another child who needs a fuzzy friend when
their world is falling apart. Individuals wanting to donate
bears to the Bears on Patrol program, can drop them off at
some Louisville Area WalMart stores or the Kosair Charities'
Office. Scout troops, schools, churches, businesses or other
organizations interested in participating in a Bears on Patrol
community service project should contact Jo
Barrett, Director of Programs, at 502-637-7696 or 888-454-3752.
